Vacation Bible School 2009

Last week we attended VBS at our church. This year's theme was Crocodile Dock. The kids had a blast all week long. They participated in singing, bible lessons, crafts, and loads of fun activities. The kids skated one day, had inflatable bouncers one day, and of course the universal favorite inflatable water day. I tried to get pictures of everything but teaching the 2 and 3's, I couldn't get everywhere the kids were. It was wonderful week but I must say we were exhausted by Friday afternoon and we spent much of the weekend recovering from our fun. The following smile box gives you a caption of the week.

Thanks, MawMaw

The kids were so pleased with the sprinkler that MawMaw Scott sent back with Momma Chris. The played in it for several hours on Father's Day.The fringe benefit of the system is that my rapidly dying grass gets a good soaking. They had a blast trying to catch the balls as they shot out of the tube.

Summer Vacation!

We recently spent the week at Marina village resort on Lake Livingston. We packed up the trailor with food and swim suits and took off on our get away. We had a great time all week swimming and being silly. Mom, Ange, Cameron, and Kayley came up on Thursday to spend the weekend swimming and having fun. Mike Payne joined us Friday and we had a really good time enjoying the first week of summer.

Mohawks

Why do boys love mohawks? They make you look silly but they love them. We gave the boys mohawks one afternoon using suntan lotion we put on their hair to keep their scalps from burning. Crazy critters.

Tyson's Pool Party!

On Sunday, June 7, to celebrate his parents 6th anniversary. Tyson invited several of us over for a pool party. His daddy cooked some smokin' good ribs and chicken and we all chilled out by the pool for the afternoon. What better way to end a weekend than hanging out with your buds.

Cameron's Big Day

On Saturday, June 6th, we celebrated our friend Cameron's 5th birthday in high style with a huge slip and slide.

I really don't know who had more fun the children or adults. The day was spent as it should be with laughter, friends, family, and fun in the sun. The slide show below is a glimpse on the day.

Friday, June 5th

We spent Friday helping our friends get ready for Cameron's 5th birthday. Which is a big one in the life of a little boy. We spent the day raising canopies, gathering lawn chairs, placing tables, and laying a rock path. At the end of the day we broke out the slip and slide so the kids could have a little fun before the big party the next day. These are a few pictures from that fun.

Morning at the Park

We spent the morning at the park as part of our friend Cameron's birthDay celebration. He turned 5 today and we went to have a little fun on his birthday since his party is not until Saturday. For once, the humidity was low and a cool breeze made for a very nice morning. We ate a little lunch and walked over the water park and enjoyed some fun in the sun. However, the nice cooling breeze made for a cold time at the water park. Never mind the temperature the kids had a great time.

The smile box is a collage of pictures from the day.

Rock Work

Last weekend while Daddy and Uncle Scott worked on Poppa Mike's shop, we decided to help Momma Chris with some "minor" landscaping at her new house. She offered to pay the boys if they would move all the rocks from the front of the house to the back. As you can see the rock garden in the front of the house was not mom's style at all and need to be fixed. So at 9:00am we got out there and started moving the few rocks. Rocks can be deceiving because there were a lot more than it looked like. The boys were troopers and really worked hard all day long..we finished about 2:00pm. Kiki did more supervision and really helped us out when she took a nap. Now our sweet Tyson was the clean up man and made sure all the rocks were out. What made the day so rewarding is the look on the boys face when they earned their $20. They've never made that much before but they've never worked that hard before either. I am so proud of the boys because they have a wonderful work ethic and even though moving rocks lost its fun after about an hour they stuck with it.

Sweet Rewards for a job well done!
